Terms of service
Effective November 2, 2026
Overview
These terms cover the Noso app for macOS and the noso.fm website. Both are made by Another Mad World (anothermadworld.com), called “we” and “us” here. By installing or using Noso, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
How we handle information is described in our privacy policy.
Your license
We give you a personal, non-exclusive license to use Noso on Macs you own or control. When you get Noso from the Mac App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies, and these terms add to it. If the two disagree, Apple’s agreement wins.
The app, its design, its name and its artwork belong to us. You may not resell the app, copy it for others, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows you to.
Trial and purchase
Noso is free to try for 14 days. After that, you can keep using it with a one-time in-app purchase of $9.99 (or the local equivalent the App Store shows you). It is not a subscription. Apple processes the payment, and your purchase is tied to your Apple Account, so you can restore it on your other Macs.
Refunds
Apple handles all App Store sales, so refunds go through Apple, not us. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
What you need
Noso controls speakers you already own. You need your own Sonos speakers on your home network, and your own accounts with any music services you play through them, such as Pandora or SiriusXM. Noso doesn’t include any music or any service subscription.
Not affiliated with Sonos or the music services
Noso is an independent app. It is not made, affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Sonos, Pandora, SiriusXM, Spotify, TuneIn or Amazon. Their names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used here only to say what Noso works with.
What Noso does to your speakers
Noso sends commands to your speakers when you ask it to: play and pause, change stations, set the volume, change sound settings such as EQ, and add or remove Sonos favorites. Those changes are real and apply to everyone in the house who uses the speakers. If you remove a favorite in Noso, it is removed from your Sonos system too.
You’re responsible for the commands you send. We aren’t responsible for music playing louder or in a different room than you expected, for a favorite you removed, or for any similar result of using the app as designed.
Third-party services can change
Noso depends on how Sonos speakers, Pandora and SiriusXM work today. Any of them can change their systems, their pages or their rules without telling us, and a feature in Noso may stop working as a result. We’ll try to fix things when that happens, but we can’t promise that every feature will keep working forever.
Disclaimer of warranties
Noso and the website are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the app will be free of bugs or work without interruption.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Noso or the website. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Noso. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts in King County, Washington. Nothing here takes away a consumer right you have where you live that can’t be waived. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Noso after an update, the new terms apply. Changes never take away a purchase you’ve already made.
